I design, carve, and cast the medals myself (see the last three photos for images of the process). The medals are made of lead-free pewter and have designs on both sides. The medal comes on either an 18-inch or 24-inch stainless steel chain with a lobster clasp. Each necklace comes in a felt jewelry pouch with a history card that states:
"Christina is the patron of astonishing women (and psychiatrists and psychologists) because of her determination and wise counsel. In her youth, she had a seizure so powerful that others believed she had died. At her 'funeral,' she ascended from her casket into the rafters of the church. The priest ordered her down. She obeyed, saying that she (a flying Dante) had seen hell, purgatory, and heaven and had been told to return to earth to act in ways 'never seen by mortals.' She did just that, spending much of her time in trees or instructing and helping others. Putting theatrics aside, her life can be read metaphorically: What Christina did was to change the world by being herself, her astonishing self. In so doing, she became a guide to others to live with such courage. This medal, handmade at In the Co. of Saints, in Covington, LA, depicts this astonishing woman soaring past one of the trees she loved so deeply."
Dimensions of pendant 1.75 (h) x 1 (w) inches
