A handmade medal of St. Anne on a chain. I design, carve, and cast the medals myself. The medals are made of lead-free pewter and have designs on both sides. The medal comes on either an 18-inch or 24-inch, zinc alloy chain with a lobster clasp. Each necklace comes in a felt jewelry pouch with a history card that states:
"The Gospel of James tells that Anne and Joachim were childless late into their lives, though they wanted a child. In desperation, Joachim went to the desert to pray for a child while Anne, at home, bewailed her fate. One day, praying, she saw an angel descending, telling her she would conceive a child who would be known throughout the world. She rushed to the city gates to greet Joachim and tell him the news. Soon thereafter, she was pregnant and later gave birth to Mary, thus making Anne the grandmother of Jesus of Nazareth. This medal of Anne, showing her at the gate where she told her husband the good news and holding the infant Mary, was handmade at In the Co. Of Saints."
