I design, carve, and cast the medals myself (they’re copyrighted). The medals are made of lead-free pewter and have designs on all sides. This listing is for one, four-sided medal on a chain (see description below). Each piece comes in a jewelry pouch and with a card stating the following:
"The relation between St. Augustine, one of the greatest thinkers in Christian history, and his mother, St. Monica, was a long, loving tussle finally resolved in harmony. Monica, always a Christian, raised Augustine in the faith, but in his late teens, he began to go his own way, eventually crossing the Mediterranean and moving to Rome and then Milan. Monica, ever persistent, followed him, continuing to urge him to return to the faith of his childhood. She finally convinced him, and the two reached a balance. This pendant/mini-statue has Monica on one side, Augustine on the other. Along the side of the piece are the Latin for son (filius) and mother (mater). The piece was handmade by Hank Schlau."
Dimensions of pendant: 1.5 inches high; .25 inches wide on each side.
