This handmade medal on a chain is meant to be given to someone or carried or worn by someone in a time when comfort and the support of others are especially important. On the front is the Good Shepherd (“The LORD is my shepherd,/I shall not want./ He makes me lie down in green pastures;/He leads me beside quiet waters” [Ps. 23]), comforting and assuring one of his flock. On the back are the words, “I am with you always” (Mt. 28:20), which Jesus uses to assure his followers. The message of the shepherd and the words of Jesus is: you are never alone, never face any hardship alone; your friends and family, and Jesus, are with you always. The medal was made at In the Co. of Saints in Covington, Louisiana.
I design, carve, and cast the medals myself (they’re copyrighted). The medals are made of lead-free pewter and have designs on both sides. The medal comes on either an 18- or 24-inch chain. Each necklace comes in a felt jewelry pouch with a history card that states the text given above.
