This handmade medal is meant to be worn or carried by Alzheimer's patients or by those who care for them. I design, carve, and cast the medals myself. The medals are made of lead-free pewter and have designs on both sides. The pendant comes with a jump ring (see photo 1), so it can easily be attached to a chain. This listing is for the pendant alone, but it does come with a split ring so it can also be used on a key chain (see photo of packaging). Each medal comes in a felt jewelry pouch with a history card that states:

"After being rejected by three religious orders, St. Benedict Joseph Labre (1748-83) became a lifelong pilgrim, in imitation of Christ. He wandered through Europe, visiting churches and shrines, with only the clothes on his back, his only food what strangers would give him. Through all these wanderings, he gave counsel, assistance, and kind words to those he met: particularly to those whose minds in some way weren’t in harmony with the normal flow of the society around them. For this, this kind, gentle man became a patron of Alzheimer’s patients and their caregivers. This medal, depicting the saint beseeching for guidance, was handmade at In the Company of Saints."

Dimensions: 1.25 h x 1 w (inches)
