The medal is meant to be worn by actors and actresses to help them as they perform, to help them to get work, and to remind them of the importance of their craft. I designed and carved the original and cast the piece in lead free pewter. Each medal comes in a jewelry pouch with a card stating the following:

"St. Genesis (d. ca. 300) was a Roman actor. One performance was before the Emperor Diocletian, who despised Christianity. The skit was meant to mock Christianity and baptism. At one point during the skit Genesius, a pagan, had a revelation that the part he was acting and Christianity were real and true. When the men playing 'soldiers' in the skit 'arrested' Genesius and, jesting, took him before Diocletian, Genesius announced to the emperor that he had become a Christian. Diocletian, enraged, then proclaimed what may well be the harshest theatrical criticism in history: he had Genesius martyred. The medal was handmade by Hank Schlau and is cast in lead-free pewter."

Dimensions: 1 inch high (includes bail) x 9/16 wide x 1/16 thick
Each medal comes with a split ring (see packaging photo) so it can be used on a key chain.
