St. Dymphna, Overcoming Anxiety and Worry, Handmade Necklace
I design, carve, and cast the medals myself (they’re copyrighted). The medals are made of lead-free pewter and have designs on both sides. The medal comes on either an 18-inch or 24-inch link chain with lobster clasp. Each necklace comes in a felt jewelry pouch with a history card that states:
"St. Dymphna’s story is about healing/wholeness emerging from anxiety and distress: thus, the place of her suffering, in Belgium, became first a pilgrimage site for those in mental and emotional distress, where many have been healed, and then the site of a leading clinic. The overriding story is thus one of distress and turmoil transformed into rejuvenation. A practice has developed that has helped many: when one feels the approach of anxiety or stress, one 'gives' them to Dymphna, who, as a saint, willing accepts the offering. The practice simply gives one a sense that one is not alone with the problem. This medal, which is made of lead-free pewter, was handmade at In the Co. of Saints."
Dimensions of medal: 1 inch high x 3/4 inch wide
The pendant alone, without the chain, is available in a separate listing. (Search for “Dymphna” here in our shop, and it will come up.)
