I design, carve, and cast the medals myself (they’re copyrighted). The medals are made of lead-free pewter and have designs on both sides. The medal comes on either an 18-inch or 24-inch stainless steel chain with lobster clasp. Each piece comes in a felt jewelry pouch with a history card that states:
"The Right Reverend John Oliver, an Anglican bishop and devoted motorcyclist, was once asked to suggest a patron of bikers. He chose St. Columban (543-615), an Irish monk who for thirty years traveled throughout Europe by sea, foot, cart…. Like other early Irish saints (e.g., Brendan), he loved the open road and the freedom of wandering. Columban built monasteries and helped run them, but he never, until his death, stopped rambling. This lead-free medal was handmade at In the Co. of Saints. The medal offers extra protection for motorcyclists."
Dimensions of pendant: 1 3/8 inches high x 7/8 inches diameter.
The pendant alone, without the chain, is available in a separate listing. (Search for “Columban” here in our shop, and it will come up.)
