I design, carve, and cast the medals myself (they’re copyrighted). The medals are made of lead-free pewter and have designs on both sides. The medal comes on either an 18-inch or 24-inch chain with lobster clasp. Each necklace comes in a felt jewelry pouch with a history card that states:
"Baptized by St. Patrick, St. Brigid (ca. 450-525) was noted for her wisdom. She also established a school, which was noted for the art it produced. This combination of intelligence, hard work, and scholarship has led to her being one of the patrons of students. Because of her immense influence upon Irish art, education, and spirituality, she is, with Patrick, also a patron saint of Ireland. This medal of Brigid was handmade by Hank Schlau at In the Company of Saints. It is cast in lead-free pewter."
