This medal is meant to be shared with a sister and/or friend. I design, carve, and cast the medals myself. The medals are made of lead-free pewter and have designs on both sides. The pendant comes with a jump ring (see photo 1), so it can easily be attached to any chain you have. This listing is for the pendant alone, but it does come with a split ring so it can also be used on a key chain (see photo of packaging). Each medal comes in a felt jewelry pouch with a history card that states:

"Luke’s Gospel (10:38-42) shows Martha and Mary as distinctly different: Jesus comes through Bethany, enters the house where the two live, and begins to talk. Mary sits at Jesus’ feet and listens; Martha goes to prepare food and is 'distracted with much serving.' The story thus shows the two women responding differently, but other biblical stories depict the two acting in consort. Thus they do what sisters/friends with differing personalities often do: complement one another, a unity from diversity. This medal, handmade at In the Co. of Saints, depicts two sisters/friends in harmony, Martha, to the left, has the roots of the tree beneath her; Mary, to the right, has the leaf in the air above her."

Dimensions: 1 1/4 in. high x 7/8 in. wide x 3/16 in. deep.

The pendant is also available on a chain in a separate listing. (Search for “Sisters” here in our shop, and it will come up.)
