With this medal, cooks and chefs in restaurants or at home can be accompanied by a saint as they work. I designed, carved, and cast the medal. On the front, St. Paschal stirs a pot, while below him, by the fire, a tiny sous chef (a cat) naps and waits for dinner. The medal, made of lead-free pewter, comes in a jewelry pouch, with a split ring (see packaging photo) so the medal can be used as a key chain, and with a card stating the following:

"Born into a poor shepherd family, Paschal Baylon (1540-92) became a Franciscan lay brother. He worked as a gardener and cook, feeding the other friars and flocks of visitors who came to the door of the friary. His ability as a baker and cook–his capacity to take simple ingredients and make delicious food–became legendary. In this medal, Paschal is at work in his kitchen, assisted by a sous chef (a tiny cat warming itself). The piece was handmade by Hank and Karen Schlau at In the Company of Saints in Covington, Louisiana."

Dimensions: 1 1/8 inches high x 3/4 inches wide
