I design, carve, and cast the medals myself. The medals are made of lead-free pewter and have designs on both sides. The medal comes on either an 18-inch or 24-inch chain with a lobster clasp. Each necklace comes in a felt jewelry pouch with a history card that states:

Highly educated, St. Andrew Avellino (1521-1608) was recognized not just as a brilliant scholar but also as a humble and devout priest. He devoted years of his life to reforming the clergy; to preaching; to tirelessly working for the interests of the poor and ill. In short, he was energetic and had a big soul. In 1608, while beginning Mass, he had a stroke, but that did not end his influence: thousands of people who have had and who have recovered from strokes regularly pray to this kind man, and because he selflessly gave so much to the sick, he is also the patron of the caregivers of stroke victims. This medal depicting Andrew was handmade at In the Company of Saints.
